This is a pretty neat class being offered at Univ. of Washington.
Seems like the groups had to develop tablet pc projects. Here’s
the link.
The projects include a whiteboard-like app for students in a study
session, an on-the-fly handwriting editing package, and a data
structure diagram making thingy…maybe I’ll play around with the SDKs
or something eventually…

I may look into doing this for my bike, though it’s definitely not a feature suited to actual practicality…

I’m currently burning my way through Strangers in Paradise, Watchmen,
and Fables (the Fables link has a free pdf downloadable first issue).

There’s been a lot of Sandman derivative work out
there lately ("introduced by the Sandman series! Super deformed cute
Sandman!" etc etc) which I’ve been avoiding thus far. Think I’ve
been swinging more towards English-language graphic novels due to
wanting to perhaps share similar mindset of the authors compared to
Japanese work. Or I may just be tired of manga style rendition. Hmm.
Anyway, Watchmen is really good and gives me a weird 9/11
conspiracy feel (thought it was written in 1986), Fable’s ok but
getting interesting (up to the second trade),
and Strangers in Paradise is addictive and relationship-y type
stuff (I’ve read the first 9 or so trades, but am going after the
pocket books now – they’re smaller and more manga-size, which means
prolly not as good print quality, but you get 300+ pages at a time that
way too). I have to admit that the fact that SiP is available
via Walmart.com (implying it’s purchasable in-store) makes me feel a
bit silly/sellout-like.

Back from NYC, which is tall, loud, and full of concrete and slightly stressed out people…
Saw a drag queen diva opera singer who sang both parts of Nessum Dorma,
a random old irish-y lady who seemed in her right mind and said Bush
should be shot, and a lady who said "dvddvd" (say it to yourself fast
and high-pitched) who was also not crazy.
Matter of fact, not sure if I encountered anyone crazy there. Odd.
More (with pictures) to come.

Just to randomly scare myself (I think) there’s this section on ebay
for haunted or paranormal items that I read sometimes. If you can get
past the text some auctioners use (ALL CAPS or bolded or with
color), they’re pretty creepy. The creep level may be low, though, as
I am easily freaked out. Here it is: haunted ebay items.
