just had what felt to be a near-death experience. I even have a feeling like my head and lips are slowly swelling down and that sorta relaxed feeling post-…..hmm. Should make a note of that.
Also, I’m going to Durham this weekend! yay civilized land of dim sum, german bakeries, and entertaining homeless people. Not to mention the friends…

It’s like having a McDonalds in your toaster…mmm…sausage egg McMuffin with cheese…..
Toaster that cooks your egg and warms your meat while toasting
Somewhat sadly, even, there is a press release on the manufacturer site about it: eggandmuffintoaster.com

I was very happy and excited to have been paid a visit by Ricardo and RR! Of course, I rather forget, quite, that they were explicitly coming out here until the morning before they arrived. In my defense, I hadn’t talked to Ricardo since the Saturday before and he never called back to confirm he or even he and RR were coming. So, woke up, did one of those head-slapping “OMG what if they show up here and we haven’t cleaned up yet!?” moments (especially because we still had some fried salted mackerel from a slightly mixed-up grocery trip/eating attempt last weekend on the counter) and rearranged things. Net result: the car that no longer moves is filled with boxes and monitors while the loft is super clean.
I also got to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before they arrived, which is a somewhat disturbing movie – Edward Scissorhands-like in wonder and what-not, but creepy. Blame the Oompa-Loompas.
Photos will be up in the gallery shortly, but my personal highlight of the weekend was when RR ordered a hot dog with an original name (see the question!) at the Vortex and asked the serving lady “How big is the Big Fat Naked Weenie?” and the lady’s estimation just kept on growing and growing…in the end, though, RR was very satisfied with it.
