I mean, what the hell!? Family is soooo stupid. I continue to believe that the legal age of, well, almost everything, should be based on some sort of psychological standard, not age/physical.

We’d have some verrrry old people who would still have a curfew, I’d bet.

So, I have a summer internship with the Georgia Free Clinics Network as a (drumroll) Project Director. Not sure what that means yet, but it sounds fancy

Also went to Ikea today, and was squashed by those more bloodthirsty than me in the sales area. See, there was supposed to be a special 5-piece bedroom set (frame, two nightstands, armoire, and chest of drawers) for $150. So we figured we’d go out there and get it. Nope! All I got was some stress and a bruise on my shin for it. Pffft.

Also, I am fascinated by my new and by most standards fairly normal cellphone. The fact that I can use IR or bluetooth to transfer sounds, pictures, and video clips back and forth from the PC to it blows my mind. Plus, it has a sound recorder built in, and you can use that for recording a sound, and then as a ringtone. Random…we were up til almost 2am playing with it and laughing ourselves silly…also, haven’t gotten a chance to try this out, but apparently in a pinch it can be used via bluetooth as a powerpoint/windows desktop remote clicker thingy. Hrmm…

Was also out in NO for the ALA conference…I spent most of my time eating, recovering from eating, and playing KOTOR 2. It’s pretty bombed-out-looking there still – it looks like it should’ve happened last month or two, not almost a year ago. It’s pretty depressing – seeing signs in grocery parking lots that say “FEMA Trailer RV Resort” and seeing piles of junk and trash on the street. There were a couple restaurants that didn’t have a parking lot anymore – it looked like their staff were living in the lots with their trailers. Suppose it’s a quick commute, but…eh.
