Coming back to US…
Somewhat strung out and in hour 3.5 of waiting for my 12-hour connecting flight from Narita to Chicago. Then another 6 hours or so of waiting unless I get standby with Bonnie, then to Seattle. Woo cheap wifi and plug, but now my laptop’s acting sporadically funky - hanging concerning Intel wifi management, and my SWKOTOR game has been maxing out the cpu and really lagging - I used to be able to play it with high texturepack and ansio-whatever and stuff with no problem, but since getting to Dantooine I’ve had to lower the resolution and texturepacks to get it to run at all, and then it still runs slowly.
My grandmother is holding stable now at generally shitty, but at least by the time I left yesterday seemed more aware of where she was at and time and stuff. Just…had a hard day yesterday. May debrief later, but for now it’s my own business to mull over it. Looks like the options are bypass surgery in her leg to help restore circulation and then hopefully healing to that open wound, or amputation. I don’t think the amputation option is really one, though - we know it’s something she doesn’t ever want, and at her age such major surgery - and healing - is really not fair. So, we’re taking it as one surgery at a time, and hoping this first one works out well. At least I got to see her, and she seemed to be glad I came and responded well…
