gadget envy
…now that I’ve been wishing for a non-existent next-gen e-book reader because Tor has been giving away nice quality scifi and fantasy e-books, I come across a non-Sony geotagger dohickey for photos that works with RAW formats…boooo….
but damn cool ![]()

If you think that’s cool, and I do too, you may also be interested in this: http://www.jobo.com/web/Photo-GPS.221.0.html
It hasn’t been released yet, from what I can tell… but it should be soon. I think it’s a little more expensive, but it sits on top of your camera, using the hot shoe, which yours should have too, and I think it can embed the information in a file alongside your RAW image. Amazing, no?!

Damn that’s cool - but it looks pretty clunky on top of the camera…what do you think the price may be? As the other one does create…sidecar XMP? files for your RAW images too, albeit not as precisely as something physically connected to the camera and thus knowledgeable of when precisely you took a picture…
